Kingdom Hearts 3
We have waited for a long time, but the release of Kingdom Hearts 3 is finally near! Playing as Sora, you, Goofy, Donald and Mickey are in for some new adventures to save the Disney worlds from the Heartless. Are you as excited as we are?
Kingdom Hearts 3 will be released on 25 January 2019 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Kingdom Hearts is the type of game that does not need an introduction, though we welcome the game with pleasure! Since the release of Kingdom Hearts 2 – about 12 years ago – we have been eagerly awaiting a new chapter of this adventure game we all adore. The beginning of the trailer already is stunning and starts with Sora observing Elsa, probably letting it all go and running towards her freedom. Watching this trailer, you will encounter more of these memorable Disney moments.
New and familiar characters
When watching the trailer, we loved seeing all the new Disney worlds we are about to discover. From Frozen to Toy Story, there is no shortage of nostalgic stories from our childhood. Go on an adventure in the world of Ratatouille, or go back to the Olympus Coliseum and step into the arena. Ralph is going to help you wreck everything and Rapunzel will lend you her hair to swing through her world.
In addition to the beautiful graphics and all these new Disney worlds, we wondered: what will the role of the Final Fantasy characters be in Kingdom Hearts 3? Will there be a balance between Disney and Square Enix characters? After some digging, we found that in a USGamer interview, Tetsuya Nomura – video game director of Kingdom Hearts – gave us some more clarification: “When you look back on the first Kingdom Hearts, Sora was still a new character, so we kind of had the Final Fantasy characters as supporting characters. But now that it's been 16 years since the first game, the original characters are more polished than they were before, so I don't think they need the Final Fantasy characters’ help as much as they did before.” He can’t say more than is shown in the trailers, so we will just have to wait until we find out ourselves.
The closer the release date, the more information will be revealed to us. External sources are hinting at new villains, time travel, and emotional investment in the story. The exact details have not been shared with us yet, or even confirmed in general, but we will keep you up to date!
So close to release!
The closer we get to the release date, the more we will find out about KH3. We will follow their updates, hoping we will get to know more about Final Fantasy characters that will take part of the game. We do hope we will see Cloud and Sephiroth at the Olympus Coliseum.
