Our favourite bandicoot is back in a series of remakes of the games which previously came out for PlayStation 1. “Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy” was released on June 13 2017 on PlayStation 4…and it might even get a release on other consoles and on PC. So, this time around Crash might not only be a PlayStation exclusive, and this news is exciting to say the least! By the way, the first Crash Bandicoot game hit shelves in 1997, which is already twenty years ago,…feeling old already?!

A hint of nostalgia

The graphics of Crash Bandicoot got an extensive upgrade and even some full game levels got an upgrade to appeal to a new audience of gamers and to let old school gamers rejoice, and take on the games which they loved as youngsters. So, get ready for an upgraded trip down Memory Lane! Jump across severe and detailed canyons and spin over your enemies to complete epic missions and the adventures of Crash Bandicoot. The games which are remade are: Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot: Cortex Strikes Back and Crash Bandicoot: Warped.

The newest updates

The graphics of all three games got remastered and remade, which means as much as that the lighting is in real-time and are used by a physically based rendering engine. Next to this, there is an increase of the texture measurement, and even the soundtrack is remastered. The cinematics also got an update to be able to reach high-detail 4k-graphics, e.g. on the PS4 Pro.
Crash Bandicoot

Crash Bandicoot, the beginning

Dr. Cortex has come up with a plan to conquer the world, and his plan is to kidnap all sorts of animals to genetically manipulate them, so that they obey Dr. Cortex as his own private army. Unluckily Crash Bandicoot’s girlfriend is among the kidnapped animals, so it is up to Crash and his skills to save his girlfriend and restore the order in the Australian animal kingdom. You will control Crash while he runs and jumps through thirty detailed and updated areas with fast-paced action and reaction sequences in a multitude of Australia-inspired levels.
Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back

Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, the sequel

In this sequel Dr. Cortex returns to mess-up Crash Bandicoot’s life once again, but now his approach is different, because he chooses to include his arch-enemy Crash in his vicious plans. Do not trust Cortex, because he is pure evil! Will Crash join Cortex or will he be in-time to come to the conclusion that Cortex is just using him. The settings are bigger in this sequel and also got the remake treatment. In this sequel, you can also interact more with side-characters, there are more beautiful cut-scenes, and the world of Crash is more colourful. You will conquer a Winter wonderland on ice-skates, you can become the master of the rodeo in different levels and you can make use of a jet-pack in zero-gravity levels.
Crash Bandicoot: Warped

Crash Bandicoot: Warped, the last revelation

This was Crash Bandicoot’s third outing on the first PlayStation and this time Crash travels through space and time! Crash dives, rides a motorbike, he teams-up with a baby T-rex and he conquers higher ground in an airplane. There is a new playable character in this third instalment, and you can ride a tiger across the Great Wall of China or jump on a jet-ski. Next to this, there are a multitude of surprises included in this game which all-together make this game bigger and full of new exciting gameplay. You can even make use of a great variety of (funny) weapons. Dr. Cortex is out, but you will encounter new enemies, e.g. Uka Uka, N. Tropy and the heinous Dingodilen. There will be reoccurring characters, like N. Gin en Tiny. In short, this last adventure is bigger and more epic than ever!
