The Story

In Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age you are a warrior in the world of Ivalice. The small kingdom of Dalmasca is conquered by the hostile empire of Archadia and because of this the kingdom lives in great uncertainty and terror. Princess Ashe, the one and only heir to the throne of Dalmasca, has devoted her life to save her country together with the resistance of Dalmasca. Vaan, a youngster who lost his whole family during the war between Dalmasca and Archadia has a great dream to live in eternal freedom. In Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age you will reconquer Dalmasca to let peace and quiet return to this realm.

Remaster of the PS2 original

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is a remaster of its original, Final Fantasy XII, which was released on the PlayStation 2 in 2006. The remaster has evolved when it comes down to graphics and gameplay. The remaster has been revamped in HD and has a new and improved sound. The game characters and the surroundings become real living and breathing things, and this gives an extra dimension to an already great game. When it comes down to the gameplay it is the battle design and the job system which have been thoroughly improved. There are also new trophies to earn and there are new share functions; this means that hardcore gamers of the Final Fantasy series will find good replay value in this Final Fantasy XII remaster, but there will also be newbies who will enjoy this great remaster game. Final Fantasy XII has undergone a great revamp, and this face-lift works amazingly well.

Gameplay changes

The ‘Zodiac Job System’ has been improved and especially its levelling system, which allows gamers to add this system up to their own standards. This version also has the newest share possibilities, auto-save points and shorter loading times.
