What is Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity?

A new expansion coming in October, Visions of Eternity features a new undiscovered land: the island of Castora, a place so remote it’s thought to be inaccessible, or even non-existent. Yet the Inquest is launching voyages in search of it, and that scares the leaders of Tyria to no end. The expansions will have two new open-world regions at launch, each filled with magical energies and strange beasts. During next year, two more regions will open up for players to explore and adventure in.

What are the new features in Visions of Eternity?

A new feature in this new expansion is actually a welcome return. Elite specializations are back with new trait lines, profession mechanics and skills to fine-tune how you can play each of the nine available professions. Also the skimmer mount will be updated with new mechanics, to let you hover, dive and soar like never before. Raids and strikes will be unified for ease of access, and new Legendary Treasures will be added for players to discover. Last but not least, players who own both Visions of Eternity and Janthir wilds will unlock a new Homestead map, and will be able to freely swap between the Janthiri and the Castoran map.

What is included in GW2: Visions of Eternity Standard Edition

Adventure on an Unknown Island

Tyria’s leaders are anxious about rumors of covert Inquest voyages launched in search of the island of Castora, an island so remote that it’s long been thought to be inaccessible—or even nonexistent. The risks involved prevent all but the most tenacious (and perhaps foolhardy) of pursuers from investigating the Inquest’s plan. Your race to discover the Inquest’s plot will lead you across two new open world regions at launch, each filled with magical energies and strange creatures. Two additional maps will open as the story continues over the course of a year.
During your travels, you’ll unlock three new Mastery tracks, including one for your Skimmer mount that will unlock new and updated abilities. The new region also brings new adventures, collections, and thematic rewards. Players who own both Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity and Guild Wars 2: Janthir Wilds will be able to unlock a new Castoran Homestead map.

New Elite Specializations

A new elite specialization for each profession will unlock new traits, profession mechanics, and healing, utility, and elite skills. Further augment your build by acquiring new relics themed to your adventures in Castora. And work towards six legendary rewards: three new legendary weapons, plus a ring, accessory, and aquabreather.

Deadly Encounters

The magically infused landscape of Castora is home to all manner of strange, warped wildlife. Two of the three major updates coming in 2026 will pit players against the most powerful of the island’s denizens in Raid Encounters (including Challenge Modes and a Legendary Mode) and a new Convergence. Along with the first of the new Raid Encounters, new system updates will make raids easier to access. A Fractal with an accompanying Challenge Mode will also release with the last of the major expansion updates.

New Features and Rewards

New emotes, armors, weapons, recipes, and other unique rewards await those who brave the dangers of Castora, and seasonal Wizard’s Vault refreshes throughout the expansion will bring additional options for unique aesthetic rewards.
To support the addition of a new Homestead map, we’re introducing two additional features. The first, the ability to freely swap between the Janthiri and Castoran maps, is helped by the second feature, Layouts. Layouts create a file you can use to save, load, share, and edit arrangements of decorations. We’ll share more about these and other features as we get nearer to the launch of Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity.

When do I receive my code?

I did not receive my code within 10 minutes

If you have not yet created an ArenaNet account, you can use your code here to create a new account.

If you purchased Path of Fire, Heart of Thorns, or End of Dragons and want to add it to an existing account, you can do so through your Account Management page:

Log in to the Account Management page with your ArenaNet account;
Click on the REDEEM A CODE button on the 'Overview' page;
Enter your code or copy and paste it into the Enter Registration Code field;
Click SUBMIT to redeem the code and add it to your account.

You will see your upgrade when you log in again. If you are logged in while redeeming the code, you may need to exit and re-start the game before the new content appears.
