Animal Crossing: New Horizons Gameplay
Upon arrival on the deserted island, you will receive the very latest phone called the NookPhone. With this device, you can perform all the important functions that will be needed on the deserted island such as:
- Invite your friends to your island;
- Keep track of your Nook miles challenges;
- Take pictures of important events;
- Save your crafting recipes;
- A fast travel feature to get back to your camp quickly.
At first, Animal Crossing: New Horizons lets you decide whether the island is in the northern hemisphere or southern hemisphere of the world. Based on your choice, you start in a certain season. This option is very nice if you would like the season to run parallel to your current season. Or if you want to escape the cold you can enjoy the summer in Animal Crossing.
Building, furniture and more
Of course, we all know that after a while we can make several pieces of furniture and have buildings built, such as a museum or a clothing shop. New Horizon takes this a step further. It's possible to redesign the island itself, create slopes, build bridges where necessary, create new paths in your city and change styles, texture and colour. Would you rather have more nature than city? The choice is yours.
NPCs and Co-operative Play
Life on a deserted island can be fun, but not everyone comes to the island unharmed like you. When you walk along the beach you will meet a few castaways every now and then. It is up to you to take care of these poor souls. Give them a place on the island and take care of their welfare. As soon as they feel better again, they can return home or settle permanently on your island.
The New Horizon supports up to 8 players in co-operative play, which means that you can have up to eight people living on one island, and when you play offline you can explore with four characters at the same time. One of them is designated as the leader who can communicate with shops and other islanders. Of course, you can customize who has which role. Connect to another Nintendo Switch, either locally or online, and you can have eight people on one island at the same time.
