It was a big surprise on October 14, 2019. When the timer ended, Fortnite players were surprised to see a black hole appearing. In the middle of the screen, there was a black hole emitting blue light. There was nothing else to see, nothing else to do and players wondered if Fortnite was going to just leave it like that. Fortunately for us, this is far from being the case. Get ready for Chapter 2! Read the 7 changes of the new Fortnite Season.
1. A whole new world
The biggest change is the brand new Fortnite map with 13 new locations! Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 1, like most other open-world games, begins with a map that you can explore and conquer the new, post-black hole locations and landmarks.
2. Splashing around in Fortnite!
Water isn't going to stop you in Fortnite, in fact: you're going to have a lot of fun if you're a real water rat. You can swim, fish, motorboat (loaded with weapons of course) and much more water fun in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 1. Get your chest wet!
3. Enhanced ways to support your team
There is a brand new weapon that helps you to keep your squad going: the Bandage Bazooka. With it, your bandages will shoot at your teammates, so they'll be fixed up again in no time. You can also now wear your fallen squad members. OH, and celebrate the victory with new emoji's, like a high five :D
4. More hiding places in Fortnite map, more action
Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 1 is all about the environment and how you use it to your advantage. Hide in hay bales, containers and surprise your enemies. Or set them on fire, by shooting at explosives and gas tanks. How creative are you?
5. Earn XP in more ways than one
Part of the new Fortnite Battle Pass is to get and level your XP in multiple ways. Earn medals through in-game activities such as searching for treasure chests, defeating enemies, or achieving challenges. These are divided into Battle, Scavenger and Survivor medals.
6. Upgradable weapons
You can now use upgrades to create the most badass weapons! Use resources to upgrade the weapons at an upgrade bench. Shoot your enemies with your own designed arsenal of weapons.
7. A graphical update in Fortnite: Chapter 2
Fortnite: Chapter 2 has also been given a graphical upgrade. The Battle Royale mode has adopted a number of cues from Fortnite: Save the World has new chests and ammo box designs and is slightly less classic cartoon-ish made. Luckily it's still enough Cartoon so it's still recognizable as Fortnite.
