Avicii – TIM

The Swedish DJ Avicii was almost done composing this new album when he passed away April last year. Although a representative claimed that there were no plans to release any more material from Avicii, his parents have decided to go through with it. The album called TIM will be released on 6 June 2019 and contains 12 singles, including SOS, the single that was released this April. The profit from TIM will be going to the Tim Bergling Foundation, a charity set up by his parents after his death to bring awareness to mental health. A beautiful way for fans of Avicii to continue enjoying his music and supporting a good cause!

In the new documentary Homecoming, you get to know more human side of Beyoncé. The movie is more than just a collection of concert footage in which Beyoncé shines. Themes like emancipation, representation and privilege also make a strong appearance. In addition, you can also see how Beyoncé has had to make sacrifices as a mother in order to be in the spotlight. An album to accompany this Netflix documentary has also been released on iTunes. The album has 40 tracks, including all songs from the documentary and a few bonus tracks. It took a few years for them to get noticed more and they quickly grew in popularity. Meanwhile, the Korean idols are taking over the world with their powerful lyrics and catchy tunes. With a few American awards in the pocket, BTS continues to surprise their large fanbase called ARMY with their new releases. In their latest album Map of the Soul: PERSONA they are trying out a new music style, yet all 7 songs still have a unique sound. The title track Boy with Luv is in collaboration with American singer Halsey and beat the record of the most viewed music video in the first 24 hours on YouTube.

Queen of Pop Madonna, crowned with the title of the most successful solo artists of all times in 2008, is still active in the music business after 40 (!) years. Although it has been 4 years since an album has been released by Madonna, she surprised us in 2019 by announcing Madame X! Her new album is inspired by artists and musicians Madonna got to know since moving to Portugal. She calls it a “melting pot of culture musically, from Angola to Guinea-Bissau to Spain to Brazil to France to Cape Verde". Madame X will be released on 14 June 2019, so definitely something to look forward to.

After 7 years out of the running, the Jonas Brothers are back! This year two singles by the beloved Disney brothers, Sucker and Cool, dropped unexpectedly and many wondered: ‘Are they really back?’. The answer is yes! But the three gentlemen are no longer boys and their music has matured along with them. The band was formed in 2005 and they sold over 20 million records before deciding to split in 2010. The time spent apart has done them well and they are ready to come back with a bang. As of 7 June 2019, you can listen to their first album in over 10 years Happiness Begins by the Jonas Brothers on iTunes.
