What is EA Sports FC26

FC26 is the latest iteration of EA Sports’ annual football game that took the place of the old FIFA series. The franchise has been around for more than 2 years and is widely recognised as the best football game on the market. FC26 brings some interesting tweaks and improvements to the table, proving once again that there is always room to make something better. It will be released on September 26th, 2025 on all gaming platforms.

Who are the cover players?

Cover players play an important role in how the game is received by the public. Every year, the most accomplished or promising player is selected to represent the EA Sports franchise. This year, the honor went to two players appearing together on the same cover: Jude Bellingham from Real Madrid and Jamal Musiala from Bayern Munich. Additionally, Zlatan Ibrahimović stars on the cover of the Ultimate Edition.

What are the improvements in FC26?

This year’s version of EA Sports FC focuses on quality of life improvements to make the game look better and play better than ever. What is nice about that is the fact that the developers listened to players and did their best to address the requests coming from the gaming community. Here are some of the most noteworthy tweaks:

• Authentic/Competitive preset - Choose between two distinct game modes to have the best-looking animations or the most fluid and responsive gameplay
• Improved responsiveness - The game has been optimised to improve response time and minimize input lag and dropped frames, especially in competitive mode.
• Better positioning - All players, and especially the goalkeeper, are now better at positioning themselves on the field for more natural motion
• Competitive camera - In Ultimate team Stadiums, players can use a competitive camera set on rails, designed to show more of the field for better planning.
• Player Archetypes - When playing in Ultimate Team, players can earn Archetype points to show how they conform to selected role models

Will you play Authentic or Competitive?

What is the difference between the two new modes, and which one is best? It depends on what you are doing in the game and how you are playing. Let’s see how they work.

Authentic mode
Authentic is the default mode for Manager and Player Career Mode, and is not available in Ultimate Team or Clubs. When playing in Authentic mode, weather effects are on and players can customise how realistic and physics-based many actions are, like tackles or header passes. The mode is intended to give as true-to-life an experience as possible, including mistakes and unpredictable ball bounces.

Competitive mode
Competitive Gameplay is mandatory in FUT, Clubs, Online Seasons, and Online Friendlies. It is optional in Kick-Off and Career Mode. As the name suggests, this mode is geared towards competitive matches where speed and precision are everything, and provides faster actions, precise control of the ball and a lesser involvement of the AI overall, leaving space for players’ skills to shine.

Can I transfer my FC Points to FC26?

Yes, just like it was with FC25, you will have the option to transfer your FC25 Points and part of your progress to FC26. But keep in mind that it’s a one-time process and once transferred, the Points cannot be moved back to FC25. The progress that can be transferred includes:

• FC Points
• Rivals division
• UT Club Profile

After the transfer, when players want to buy FUT packs and enjoy the Ultimate Team game mode to the fullest, they will want to use the new FC26 FC Points.
