Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin

Young Sakuna, goddess of warriors and harvest, have been banished to Demon Island along with a small group of humans for the sin of causing havoc in the Lofty Realm. Her task will be to rid the island of the residing demons, while helping the humans grow rice and make a decent living in the inhospitable place. How will the forced cooperation between human and divinity work out? Inspired by the popular videogame of the same title, Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin is a delightful show about learning humility and discovering how small things make life worth living.

Shy

When the world was fast approaching World War III heroes appeared, people with superpowers that averted the upcoming war menace. With the world at peace again, each hero chose a country to live in and protect. Our main character, Teru Momijiyama, is secretly the hero Shy and is the protector of Japan. But her super-strength is not much use when her weakness is the fact she’s terribly shy! During the course of the show, she will have to learn how to become a better and more confident hero, while fighting against the evil organisation Amarariruku, which perverts people’s hearts to further its nefarious schemes.

Sengoku Youko

Set in 16th-century Japan, Sengoku Youko is the story of a human-loving little katawara (magical being) fox and her human-despising stepbrother who battle evil from both humans and katawaras. High-powered battles are common, but in the end what sets this show apart is the base humanity shown in all interactions, and how a good heart and proper care do wonders in conflicts. All in all it’s a fairly typical but very well done shonen action anime with all the markings of the genre, which comes as refreshing news in this age of copy-and-paste isekais. Definitely recommended to anyone looking for great fights and heartwarming moments.

Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian

Alisa Mikhailovna Kujo, nicknamed Alya, is a half russian, half japanese girl of uncanny beauty and cold demeanor who is admired by everyone at school. Her cold, distant behaviour doesn’t win her many friends, in fact the only person that seems somewhat close to her is Masachika, the sleepyhead guy sitting next to her. Alya also has a habit of sometimes saying things to him in russian, like the enigmatic word милашка. It would be a nice way to express things with no one understanding you, but little does she suspect that Masachika secretly knows russian and understands that she’s calling him “cutie”...

Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest

One year after the ending of the main story, the team lands in the continent of Guiltina to undertake the infamous 100 Years Quest, a mission so incredibly hard that no one has managed to complete it in over 100 years. The mission requires finding and sealing the Five Dragon Gods, ancient and powerful beings, each of them rivalling Acnologia (the main story’s archenemy) in strength. This show is the anime adaption of the manga with the same title, already counting 17 volumes, so we can expect a long and exciting seriesfull of Fairy Tail goodness. Unmissable for anyone who watched and loved Fairy Tail!

Mayonaka Punch

Being a NewTube star is not easy, even a little thing like assaulting and punching your partners can see you expelled from your group and having to make it alone. That’s exactly what happens to Masaki, who is now struggling to get back on her feet. Her luck turns around when she meets Live, a pink-haired vampire who agrees to help her reach 1.000.000 subscribers in exchange for being allowed to suck the marrow out of Masaki’s bones (yuck!). Will a vampire partner (and her cohort of supernatural friends) be enough to grant success to Masaki’s channel? Will Live really feed off the NewTube star’s blood? Watch this show and find out!
