Star Wars Jedi: Survivor—A Stunning, New Galaxy-Spanning Star Wars Adventure

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor—An Ambitious Sequel to Fallen Order

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is the greatly anticipated sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, a game that was a critical and commercial success, praised for fun gameplay and introducing its charismatic hero character, Cal. As Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a follow-up to an already critically acclaimed game, it seems that it’s going to build on what made the original game successful and improve on where it might have been lacking. The game is set to release fairly soon on the 28th of April 2023 on all major platforms, so there’s not long to wait. Let’s have a look at what we know about Respawn Entertainment’s much-hyped Star Wars game so far!

Discover the Continuation of the Story of Cal Kestis

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’s story was centered around Cal Kestis, a former Jedi Padawan who was attempting to hide from his troubled past and conceal his Force abilities from the Imperial Inquisition. Throughout his journey, Kestis travelled to different planets, met fascinating characters and encountered familiar faces from the Star Wars universe. The events in Fallen Order take place five years after the events of Revenge of the Sith, and Survivor itself takes place five more years after that. There is no need to play Fallen Order before Survivor, but it’s a good idea if you want to be up to date on Cal’s epic adventure.

Cal was basically just a teenager during the events of Fallen Order, and now he is a full-grown adult in the events of Survivor. The story will pick up years after the events of the first game, but this time the stakes will be considerably higher as the galaxy descends into darkness. As one of the last Jedi Knights, Cal will need to fight hard to survive. Of course, there will be plenty of all-new enemies to fight, such as battle droids and Wampa beasts.

Enjoy Thrilling Lightsaber and Force Combat

I don’t think anybody could argue that Star Wars isn’t the perfect franchise for gamers, the films alone featuring swords, guns and enemies that seem tailor-made for video game combat. The gameplay of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will build on what Fallen Order established, with additional Force abilities and lightsaber fighting styles. There are also puzzles scattered throughout the game, which will require the player to use logic and deduction to solve. The combat system is challenging and rewarding, with an emphasis on lightsaber battles and Force abilities. The game will have a skill tree system, where the player gradually can unlock new abilities and upgrades to improve Cal’s combat techniques and Force powers.

It’s a bit gory, but apparently the game will feature limb dismemberment for the first time, too! That was something players had been clamouring for after Fallen Order did not feature it. Undoubtedly, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is among the most highly anticipated games of the year, and not just among Star Wars fans. Following the tremendous success of Fallen Order, this sequel carries the burden of high expectations. Fans everywhere are expecting a bigger, more ambitious game. By introducing realistic mechanics to one of the most renowned weapons in science fiction, the lightsaber, Respawn Entertainment seem to be making a promising step towards creating a more immersive gameplay experience.

Explore the Galaxy with “Wide Open” Planets and Greater Player Customisation Options

Another way Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is going to build on Fallen Order is with the introduction of “open-wide” planets. Fallen Order was a fairly linear game, and it appears that Survivor will improve on that by adding more exploration and player freedom. According to the developer, Survivor will have much more open-world-style map design in the vein of space exploration games like No Man’s Sky, although there still will be a story guiding players onward. That’s great news for players who are tired of modern games holding players’ hands, and forcing them from point A to B like a donkey offered a carrot on a stick.

Similarly, Star Wars: Jedi Survivor will give players more choices in terms of greater cosmetic customisation options, including wearable bomber jackets and gold jackets. Jedi have never been known for being great fashionistas, but nonetheless, it’s excellent that players will now be able to dress their version of Cal however they would like. Not to mention, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was built for next-generation consoles and Windows 10, so it seems inevitable that it’s going to be one of the best-looking Star Wars games ever released!
