Fear never ends, apparently, because this new Resident Evil game is the ninth in the main series and still feels as fresh and scary as the original was in 1996. Even more so, thanks to modern graphics and gameplay innovations. In Requiem players will share control of two very different main characters, alternating gameplay focused on face-to-face fights with scarier, survival horror sections. Early in the story the action moves to Raccoon City, the almost legendary location where the original Umbrella incident took place, which is now reduced to ruins and is even more haunting than before.

A mysterious string of deaths leads both Grace and Leon to an abandoned hotel in the Midwest -the same place Grace’s mother was murdered years before- and later to the ruins of Raccoon City. Cannot go into further details without entering spoiler territory, but both characters will have to face their past. How will they cope with it? New revelations will come out about the old incident that changed the world, amidst new threats and assorted monstrosities to defeat (or run from).

Who are the main characters?

In RE Requiem players alternate between two characters: a beloved veteran of the series and an inexperienced newcomer.

• Leon S. Kennedy - A rugged survivor of the original Raccoon City incident. Leon was the star of some previous Resident Evil games, and possesses great combat abilities matched with a strong sense of justice. A fan favourite if there ever was one!
• Grace Ashcroft - An intelligence analyst for the FBI, Grace’s strong points are deductive reasoning and analysis. Not the most capable person in a fight, she excels at avoiding enemies (or disposing of them the smart way). Her mother was a survivor of Raccoon City, and was later murdered in front of her eyes, which left her with a deep trauma.

Yes, this is the Standard Edition of the game for Xbox Series X|S, and it only includes the base game without any extra content. You can also choose the Deluxe Edition, that comes with several additional items.
