What is Splatoon 3?

Splatoon 3 is already the third game in Nintendo's mega-popular Splatoon game franchise; this game is exclusively developed for the Nintendo Switch. Both colourful and action-packed, this third-person shooter focuses largely on (online) multiplayer battles. The previous Splatoon games were already fantastic, but part 3 takes this up a notch with classic and new features, such as:

• Splatlands - This third game in the game series introduces a whole new environment called 'Splatlands', an area just outside the well-known Inkopolis, from the previous games. • New and Returning Weapons - In Splatoon 3, you can take on the 'Tri-Stringer', a weapon that looks like a bow and can fire multiple ink projectiles at once. You can also do battle with the 'Splatana', a sword that can throw ink waves. Of course, you can also fight with familiar Splatoon weapons, such as: rollers, splat guns, and blasters.
• Special Moves and Abilities - Use new, special moves in Splatoon 3, such as: the Squid Surge or Squid Roll. These moves allow you to move faster or dodge attacks.
• Customisation and Progression - Customise your playable characters and gear the way you want with clothing items, shoes, and more. Your gear determines how strong you will be in battles. Winning challenges and battles gives you more and more options to customise your favourite fighters.

Single-player campaign

This third Splatoon game offers a single-player campaign called 'Return of the Mammalians'. Embark on an adventure to discover the origins of the Mammalians, the small, furry creatures introduced in Splatoon 3. Team up with Agent 3 and the New Squidbeak Splatoon organisation to avert the threat of the Mammalians. The single-player campaign of this game has different objectives and skills you need to achieve to progress in this mode.

Extras

• Salmon Run - Splatoon 3 sees the return of this co-op mode in which you gamers must work together to flatten entire hordes of enemy Salmonids while collecting golden eggs. This mode can now be played continuously and in the previous games you could only play this mode occasionally.
• Splatfests - Events where players can choose from a large number of teams and compete in special matches to determine which team has the most fans.
