What is Star Wars?
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, a wonderful cinematic universe was set in motion. The central story of Star Wars is the eternal conflict between the Jedi Knights, masters of the Force, and the Sith Lords, servants of the Dark Side. What kind of game is Star Wars Outlaws?
Star Wars Outlaws is an open-world game, the first of its kind set in the Star Wars universe, designed to give players an immersive experience in the outlaw underworld of the popular saga. The game is set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, at a time when the Empire seems to have conquered all opposition and the Rebel Alliance is hiding and waiting. Players take control of young rogue Kay Vess and her pet Nix as they navigate the galaxy's criminal underworld in search of a team to pull off a big heist to pay off their debts. The action steers away from Force conflicts, there are no Jedi in sight, and Kay acts more like a green, inexperienced Han Solo than an all-powerful, self-righteous hero. Players are given the freedom to explore as they please, and most missions can be completed in a variety of ways, including sneaking in unseen, or persuading or bribing a relevant character. It's also possible to go in guns blazing, but this is rarely a wise - or fun - approach. The game is playable on Xbox series X|S.
Choose your alliances wisely!
There are several factions in the criminal underworld of the galaxy, and each player's choices will raise or lower Kay's reputation with them. A high reputation with a faction usually means access to otherwise restricted areas and the ability to purchase certain items, while a low reputation makes things more difficult - a hostile faction might even put a bounty on your head! Your actions will shape the world around you, but loyalties are fluid in this world, and you can always regain good standing with a faction, or betray them. Be warned, they're just as likely to betray you!
