What is Elden Ring: Nightreign?
Nightreign is the latest game by From Software, creators of Dark Souls, Bloodborne and Elden Ring. Their previous games are famous for their unforgiving difficulty, but also their fairness, since victory is always up to the player’s skill. Experienced players can even go through the whole game unscathed. Likewise, Nightreign is an action RPG heavily dependent on skill, but it introduces some twists and upgrades that make it unique.
How is it different from Elden Ring?
While Nightreign shares the general world and vibe with Elden Ring, the similarities end there. Nightreign is chiefly a co-op game that players are supposed to experience in groups of three with two other people (there is no support for 2-player runs, and no AI-controlled characters are present). It can be played solo, but that’s not how it’s supposed to be, it would detract from the overall experience. The game is structured as a roguelike: players begin each run at level one, and need to gain levels and find gear as quickly as possible. When night falls, they will be pushed into battle with a powerful Night Boss.
