Halo Infinite Winter Update
Not long ago Halo Infinite: Season 2 ended. Season 3 has been announced but it's still several months away, so in the meanwhile a Winter Update has been released, which includes its own Battle Pass and some welcome additions. Let's find out!
The Winter Update
Halo Infinite's Winter Update went live on November 8, 2022. It will keep players entertained until the launch of Season 3 next year. The Winter Update includes its own Battle Pass (which is free, incidentally) and two very welcome additions: the Forge and the XP Boost Beta. We're sure players will love these new features.
The Forge
The Forge is the new system where players can design their own maps and share them with everyone online. Several cool and interesting maps have already been created by the community, such as Lockout Remake or Eternity. A special mention goes to Repul Soccer, where two teams have to use their repulsors to direct a ball towards the net. Halo Infinite meets Rocket League!
XP Boost (Beta)
Starting with this Winter Update developers are changing the way XP and progression are calculated. Until now players had to complete challenges to earn XP, so they often had to play game modes they didn't like only to progress through the Battle Pass. It isn't so anymore. Now XP is awarded for each match played, regardless of the game mode, and challenges only provide an XP boost and cosmetic rewards. Great news, isn't it?
This feature is still in Beta stage, meaning that it's not final yet and developers are analyzing the data to fine-tune the amount of awarded XP and maximise the fun.
Season 3
Halo Infinite Season 3 is scheduled to launch on March 7, 2023 and be live until June 27, 2023. It will have an all-new Battle Pass and will feature new maps and weapons. Most of the content has not been revealed yet, but a couple details are known.
M392 Bandit: this gun will be a high-velocity rifle similar to the DMR, which is not featured in Halo Infinite. We feel certain that a lot of players will love this new weapon.
Shroud Screen: this Screen will allow players to conceal themselves in a cloud of smoke and disappear from enemy radars. Great news for stealth players, we foresee lots of ambushes and stealthy kills
