Now he has the power to fight the monsters on his own, but how will he deal with possessing the body of a monster and its quirks?

Viral Hit

Being a weak boy and getting bullied is not fun, at all. But Hobin Yoo chooses to turn his weakness into strength, and starts a NewTube channel showing himself being beaten by bullies. His money-making scheme quickly comes to a halt when he realizes that, in order to work, the videos should last much longer than he is able to sustain a fight. Thus his quest to become a better fighter begins, with the help of a strange chicken teacher. Finding new ways to be popular with the NewTube channel, training to get better at fighting and protecting himself, Hobin Yoo is on its path to become a celebrity and turn his life around.

Astro Note

Beautiful alien girl crashes on Earth. Somehow she becomes owner of hostel, where weird characters live. Unsuspecting guy gets hired as cook and immediately falls in love with alien girl. Obvious differences aside, the similarities with Rumiko Takahashi’s classic masterpiece Maison Ikkoku immediately come to mind. So far only a couple episodes have aired, so it’s hard to foresee where this show will go, but what has been shown was funny and mildly intriguing. Definitely worth checking if you like romantic comedies and wacky humor. Bonus points for all the retro references.

Tonari no Yokai-san
Train to the End of the World
Wind Breaker

Tonari no Yokai-san

The quiet village called Engamori is home to a peculiar mix of citizens. Humans, monsters, gods and spirits all live side by side and get along well. One day an old housecat evolves into a Nekomata and sets out to understand more about his transformation and his new role as a Yokai. There is also a young girl who is more sensitive than most to the presence of the Yokai, and seems to be somewhat related to the Void, a sort of alternate dimension where people and Yokai could disappear into. All in all, Tonari no Yokai-san is a quiet and peaceful slice-of-life show about change and acceptance, with a hint of a darker undertone that may become clearer as the show goes on.

Train to the End of the World

New technology can always pose some risk. The invention of 7G broadband network turned out to be disastrous, as it reshaped reality and turned Japan into a dangerous land of warped reality. Furthermore, every person reaching 21 years of age gets turned into an animal. A couple of years after the 7G incident, a group of girls finds out that the transformation may be stopped if they could find the inventor of 7G technology, who was last seen in Ikebukuro, 30 train stops away from their location. So they take command of an abandoned train and start their journey to the end of the world.

Wind Breaker

Prejudices can be very, very harmful. Ask Haruka Sakura, the main character of Wind Breaker, who has the misfortune of having been born with a severe case of heterochromia: half his hair is white and one eye is light brown. In a conformist society like Japan, where everything out of the norm is considered bad, this meant that young Haruka was shunned and feared due to his appearance. This led to him deciding to become the toughest guy around. If everyone treated him as a thug, he may as well be the toughest, roughest thug the city had ever seen! The other delinquents in his school actively protect the town from rival gangs, and Sakura ends up being part of the team.
