The integration with Bing means that every part of the world is mapped down to the meter, with astounding detail. Players will be able to fly over their hometowns and recognise their houses and neighbourhoods! The time of day and weather conditions can also be freely set, or downloaded in real-time by the internet for increased realism. At the highest realism setting, even the real air traffic conditions can be applied.

Realism is the name of the game with the planes’s rendering, too. The cockpits are recreated so faithfully that a good high-resolution screenshot can easily fool people into thinking the player was into the real plane. It doesn’t stop there, either! Each instrument is fully functional and behaves exactly like its real-life counterpart. In the end, while Flight Simulator is still just a game, it is also the closest experience to flying a plane barring actually enrolling in a real flight school.

Microsoft Flight Simulator was originally available only on PC, but lately it’s been released to Xbox Series X|S too.
