Dragonball Daima

Goku is back! This time he and his friends get turned back to kids by the new evil guy, who reasons that as kids the warriors won’t be as much trouble. And also kidnaps Dende for good measure. So Goku and company begin a journey to the Demon World to rescue their friend and get back the Dragonballs in order to turn back to normal. Dragonball Daima is the last anime Akira Toriyama worked on personally before passing away, and it shows a significant toned down power scaling from earlier shows. Goku is not a super powerful warrior able to beat up the gods anymore, this time he faces regular people with simple fighting skill and his trusty power pole.

DanDaDan

What happens when a girl who believes in spirits and a boy who is fascinated by aliens meet? If they are the main characters in DanDaDan, their lives are about to be seriously twisted up. Being kidnapped by weird aliens who want to impregnate her, or having his male parts stolen by the Turbo Granny spirit is now just everyday life for Momo Ayase and Ken Takakura. DanDaDan is a highly dynamic, over-the-top anime that doesn’t pull any punches and is a joy to watch if you like this kind of narrative. Easily one of the best new entries in this season’s offering.

Acro Trip

Chizuko is the greatest fan of the superheroine Berry Blossom. Unfortunately the popularity of her idol is plummeting, since her arch-enemy Chrome, leader of the evil organization Fossa Magna, is very weak, leading to very uninteresting conflicts. The public is bored by the easy battles and is losing interest in the heroine. Chizuko would love to help her, and her chance comes when she gets recruited by Chrome himself. What better chance than conspiring for better plans and more interesting battles, secretly looking forward to defeat and increased attention for Berry Blossom? The situation also gives her the chance to seeing her up close almost daily… will justice prevail in the end?

Mecha-Ude: Mechanical Arms

Unknown to most of humanity, mechanical beings descended to Earth in the past in search of a substance called “arbitrium”, and merged with some select humans to do so, ending up being called Mecha-Ude or Mecha-Arms. One day Hikaru Amatsuga, an average middle school student, finds a strange cube and manages to break its seal, thus freeing the extremely powerful but amnesiac Mecha-Ude Alma, which is highly sought by the evil Kagami Group and the resistance organization ARMS. Spectacular fights and hyper-dynamic animation are a staple of his anime, making it one of the best action shows this year.

Delico's Nursery

Delico’s Nursery is a spinoff series stemming from the much larger story titled TRUMP, by Kenichi Suemitsu. A series of murders is shaking the vampire world and aristocrat Dali Delico is tasked with investigating the issue. He only accepts on the condition that he can continue taking care of his child, and all other members of the task force bring their children to the base of operation to keep caring for them. It is so that Delico’s mansion welcomes a few more children and is dubbed “Nursery”. The group soon finds out that the responsible of the attacks is an organization called Pendulum, and that their objective is to discover the whereabouts of the “True of Vamp”, the legendary god of vampires…

I'll Become a Villainess Who Goes Down in History

Not everyone likes heroines. One girl in particular despises them and always roots for the villainess, until one day she wakes up and discovers she’s been reincarnated as Alicia, the villainess of a game she used to play. Determined to become the greatest villainess the world has ever seen, she eagerly accepts her new life and sets to work. When coming in contact with Liz, the game’s heroine, Alicia finds out that she’s naive and immature, and gains popularity by unconsciously brainwashing the people around her with magic. Not everyone is affected, tough… the prince of the kingdom very much dislikes Liz, and seems quite attracted by Alicia! This is a different kind of anime that will have everyone root for the villainess!
