What type of game is Super Smash Bros. Ultimate?
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the fifth game in the Super Smash Bros. series, exclusively available on the Nintendo Switch. In this game, you battle with the best Nintendo characters in the coolest arenas. The goal in a classic match is to blast every opponent from the arena and be the last remaining fighter. The last man standing wins! With 74 fighters and more than 100 stages, this is the biggest Smash game ever. You can play this game on the Nintendo Switch with 8 players at the same time. So gather your friends and have them bring along a set of Joy-Cons for an evening of Super Smash Bros.!
What’s new in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate?
Seeing as this is the fifth instalment in the Super Smash Bros. franchise, a few new game modes have been added to keep things ‘fresh’. These are the game modes that you can play in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate:
- Classic Mode – smash your way through increasingly difficult opponents
- Smash – the classic game mode in which you decide the stage and rules
- Squad Strike – create a team of 3 or 5 players and go head to head
- Tourney – work your way to the top in a tournament of 32 participants
- Special Smash – Choose one character you and your friend have to fight with to find out who masters the character best!
- Training – for when you want to train your skills or specific attacks
- Mob Smash – fight against waves of enemies and try to survive as long as possible
- Stage Builder – release your creativity and create your own stages
How many Super Smash Bros. Ultimate characters are there?
In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, you can play every character from the previous games, but there have also been some additions. The fighters you can choose from are all from various Nintendo series, like Mario, Zelda, Pokémon and so much more. In addition to a long list of returning fighters, several new names have joined the roster in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, like Inkling from Splatoon, Simon from Castlevania, King K. Rool from Donkey Kong and Isabella from Animal Crossing.
Will there be new characters added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate?
Well yes, there are still new characters being added to the current line-up in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. These fighters are available with DLCs, so you will have to purchase these. Or, you can get all of these fighters in one go with the Fighters Pass!
