MS Flight Simulator: Top Gun
In May of 2022 the free DLC “Microsoft Flight Simulator: Top Gun – Maverick” will be released, which is an expansion of the upcoming, second Top Gun movie, starring legendary actor Tom Cruise. This DLC, developed by Microsoft and Asobo Studio, is an update of the latest Microsoft Flight Simulator and needs to be viewed as an expansion, rather than a whole new game.

Procrastination is the thief of time, but not in this case. This free expansion of the video game Microsoft Flight Simulator is postponed until May 2022, since its original release date was November 2021. The reason that it was postponed was that the movie “Top Gun: Maverick” has also been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic that broke out globally. It would have been a shame to release a game expansion that is based on a movie that nobody has actually seen (yet). Now the DLC will be released in May of 2022. When exactly we do not know yet, but it might be on the new release date of the movie it is based on; this date would be May 27, 2022.
On which platforms will this expansion be released?
This expansion, which is free of charge, will be released on May 27, 2022, and on that date, it will find its way to Windows 10, but also Xbox Series X and S. For now, there are no indications that this game can be played on either PlayStation consoles or Nintendo consoles.
What do we know about this free Top Gun: maverick DLC?
By now we know about this free Top Gun: Maverick DLC, which was announced in June of 2021, that it will include an American aircraft carrier and a F/A-18E Super Hornet. Next to this, the free expansion will include a jet fighter, which is of course the ultimate battle plain in a Top Gun game.
