What type of game is it?

Hyrule Warriors games are hack’n’slash fighting games in the style called Musou, where you control a single powerful character pitted against hordes of weaker enemies, 1 against 1000. Players fight massive hordes of enemies in large-scale battles while capturing territories and commanding allies across the battlefield. Enjoy wielding Zelda’s power as you mow down dozens of enemies with a single strike!

Is this game related to other Zelda games?

Yes, Age of Imprisonment is closely related to Tears of the Kingdom and expands on its story, delving into events and interacting with characters who barely made an appearance in the previous game. Princess Zelda is transported to ancient Hyrule, where she meets the first king, Rauru, and joins him in the fight against the evil Ganondorf. Zelda, Rauru and over a dozen other characters are all playable, each with their own special attacks and strategies.

Is there any bonus if I played previous Zelda games?

Yes, you can get an additional weapon. If you have save data from Tears of the Kingdom you will obtain a High Guard’s Sword when you reach a certain point in the story. And if you have save data from Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity you will obtain a High Guard’s Claymore. Note that Age of Imprisonment is compatible with Amiibo, too. You can scan any figure from the Legend of Zelda series to get additional in-game rewards, like crafting materials and other items.

Can Age of Imprisonment be played multiplayer?

Yes, you can team up with a friend to face Ganondorf’s hordes together. It is possible to play on the same console with split screen, or on two separate consoles via Gameshare, either locally or online. For online play, a Nintendo Online subscription is required.
